Kendig Cottage Spinning and Knitting Supply:
Skin Care for Fiber Artists: Heal my Hands
Heal my Hands is an all natural product line that is produced by a fiber customer of ours! I am a devotee of these products and if you've met me on an airplane you know I always have a cake of Heal My Hands with me as well as HMH lip and nose products! I love the fact that the lotions & balms are solid and won't "explode" in your carry-on luggage or makeup bag! And the cracked fingers I get in the winter are gone! You can even spin silk without it catching after you use these wonderful lotion cakes.

These products are different from creams or lotions you might be familiar with.
Here's what makes HMH products superior to other moisturizers. HMH cakes
contain:
1. All natural and organic ingredients.
2. The finest botanical and emollient ingredients available including lanolin,
shea butter, hemp butter, almond butter, avocado butter and jojoba oil.
3. 250 IU of tocopheryl acetate (food grade vitamin E) is contained in each
cake.
4. No water, fillers, stabilizers, preservatives, synthetic ingredients or artificial
fragrances.
5. Made by Heal my Hands in small batches to ensure quality and freshness.

Heal my Hands, Heels, and Paws contain no water, and they have a markedly different texture than liquid or cream moisturizers that do contain water. HMH products require a bit of extra time to apply and to absorb. We believe the extra couple of moments are more than offset by the benefits. To use, remove the cake from the tin, rub the cake between your palms or directly on your feet and heels to release a generous layer, then put the cake back into the tin and massage the soothing and softening ingredients into your dry hands and/or feet. Please don't walk on bare floors immediately after using on feet, your feet will be slippery! Men and women that work their hand hard especially love our Ultra with additional lanolin, 14% per cake, as well as arnica and tea tree oil for abrasions, cracking and bruising.

Heal my Lips is my favorite winter companion. It's long lasting and works wonders for chapped lips! Heal my Nose is a wonder product in my opinion. I get a horrible cold every winter and make my nose raw from tissues and this stuff heals me! Used a few times a day it helps that painful rawness heal. I love it. The Heal my face scrub is made from all natural ingredients and mixes easily with water to make a gentle but cleansing scrub. It's vanilla bean, and I think you're going to enjoy it! Heal my Bottom is the newest product in the line...very emolient! Men especially love to use it on their hands (as do women!), but it's especially great for your little one's diaper area.

But why does HMH cost more than other balms? Most balms on the market use inexpensive and less effective
ingredients such as olive oil as the primary emollient. Olive oil isn't bad for your skin, it's not the most effective emolient though.
Most commercial lotions and creams contain miniscule quantities of the emollient ingredients listed on their labels, as little as 1%.
Those ingredients are usually found after the water. Each of these cakes lasts as long as the average bottle of lotion, from 2
months to a year depending on how dry your skin is.
HMH uses pure organic Jojoba that is the only wax with a molecular structure small enough to actually be absorbed by the skin,
thus providing penetrating moisture and protection. Lanolin, from sheep's wool, has long been the favorite moisturizing ingredient
of dermatologists around the world. HMH uses ultra-purified medical grade lanolin and all products contain between 12 and 14%.
Natural, ultra-filtered beeswax is used. Shea, hemp, almond and avocado butters, aside from being among the finest emollients
in the world, are also the purest available. There is 250 IU of pure, food grade vitamin E in each cake. All of the oils are cold
pressed, never solvent extracted. All the herbs are organic and grown locally to the Heal my Hands kitchen. The essential oils
are organic wherever possible and are the highest grade available.
