Cottage is family run, and I'm lucky enough to have a lot of support in the
fiber area. I'm a lover of fiber of all types, and I'm frequently seen spinning
even for a moment!. I also knit, weave, dye, felt, (usually on purpose) and of
course, spin and even sew and quilt. I'm a flight attendant too...hence the
short delay sometimes in getting your order or answer to you...usually no
more than 24-48 hours.

To the right is a picture of me dressed up on my way to volunteer at a living history
museum. I spin and help teach the interested spinners and weavers at the Museum.
For me, the big payoff is seeing the eyes of the children that are touched by the
program light up! (And dressing up is kind of fun too!) I also teach textile history and
conservation as well as Victorian Period clothing related subjects, and belong to a
living history reenactment group.
But near to my heart is the whole "volunteering" issue. Please volunteer, somewhere,
doing something. I have always worked full time (now I work full time as well as have
the fiber business) and have always found the time to volunteer with the Schools, Boy
and Girl Scouts, Museums, etc. You can too! Even if you volunteer for only an hour a
month, please do it. Schools, Scouts, National Parks, Museums, Churches, Soup
Kitchens, whatever you have an interest in, it'll make you feel great and help the
organization for whom you're volunteering. Most need time as much as they need
money.
